Aaron Short Interview

By Nick

We interviewed Aaron Short of the Tinora Wrestling team. We asked him how the quarantine has affected him personally. He said that “it hasn’t affected him very much. He misses hanging out with his friends and lifting weights.” We asked him what he has been doing to stay in shape. He said “he has been doing body weight exercises as well as running and eating healthy.” We asked him what his favorite memory was while attending Tinora High School. Here’s what he had to say, “My favorite memory would be winning my 2nd GMC wrestling title, while winning our 5th straight team title.” We asked Aaron if there was anything different about his team this year compared to teams in the past. He replied “this year’s team had very good chemistry and very good leadership.” We asked him what his plans were after highschool. He said he “plans on attending Defiance College to study accounting.” He also hopes to join the wrestling team. We asked him if there is anyone that he would like to thank which is his coaches and his teammates “for making him work hard in practice and be the best that he can be.” We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Aaron!! Go luck Aaron and GO RAMS!! #Tinora #Rams

At home workouts to prepare for the Fall season

By Tre’Ana

As we have a few months off during this quarantine, we want to look into what we can do to prepare for the Fall as Tinora High School Athletics. Attached will be some at home exercises you can try out to stay in shape during this time.

Some ideas include: jump rope, run around the neighborhood, try a new ab circuit, squats, lunges, pushups, etc. Get creative with it! Use your stairs as step ups, use the wall as support during calf raises, and stay active.

Remember to stay safe, and keep practicing your sport. We will come out of this stronger than before! The off season is where we will go hard in silence but once the season is upon us, we can show what we got! Send in some of your favorite at home workouts to be featured on our page.

How to stay positive during social distancing

By Tre’Ana

This time can be very tough for everyone, especially athletes and seniors. Our hearts go out to all athletes that have to take some time off of their sport, our come back will be stronger than ever. Trust the process. We may be apart from each other in distance but our family is forever together. Be safe Ram Nation.

Somethings you can do to help stay positive is: reflect on past seasons for your sport, write out the good and bad of your skills, work on things that can help you improve next season. Spend time focusing on improving grades through online classes. Share time with family completing games and going for walks. Drink lots of water. Clean your space. We are here for anyone that needs to talk because we understand it can be hard to go through this process. Share with us how you are spending your social distancing.

All Conference Team Accomplishments

By Nick

We want to give a big shout out to the Men’s and Women’s basketball players who were announced to the all conference teams. The women’s basketball team had two players achieve these honors: Tristen Narden with second team and Anna Frazer as a honorable mention. The men’s team had three players achieve this honor: Evan Willitzer with first team, Marcus Grube as second team, and Nolan Schafer with a honorable mention. Congratulations to these players on achieving these accomplishments. To earn these awards the athletes showed endless effort, good statistics after game, and were key components to the success the teams endured. These players worked hard throughout the season to earn this award and we are looking forward to see what they bring to next season. The Ram Nation is proud of all the athletes and are proud that each of these players are apart of the Tinora High School Athletics.

Marcus Grube leads the mens basketball team to a Valentines Day victory

Written By: Tre’Ana

#1 Marcus Grube is a name and number the Fairview Apaches saw a lot of in their game Friday February 14th. Tinora men’s basketball team traveled to Fairview for their game this past weekend. The Rams finished the game with a win of 62-44. Marcus Grube, the point guard for Tinora, led the team with 25 points with 5 three-pointers. This win pushed Tinora to 12-9 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

Scoring points must run in the family because Marcus’ brother, Max Grube, was the next top shooter with 12 points. Congrats to the Men’s Ram’s basketball team. See Grube in action this Thursday, February 21st, for their last home game.
